Job description

Working in partnership with Consilium Recruit they are seeking a Modelling and Simulation Analyst. The role is for an Modelling and Simulation Analyst, based in the Business and Factory Optimisation department within Digital Engineering.

The Role

The purpose of the Modelling and Simulation Analyst is to support the team by contributing to projects that require creative problem solving, solution concepts, model development, and understanding of client's manufacturing processes at an operational level and optimisation of processes.

The role will apply knowledge and experience of conducting simulation studies on real engineering problems to help MTC clients achieve their broad ranging goals as they drive towards achieving manufacturing excellence. They will support other engineers in delivering consistently high-quality projects through technical planning, meeting governance requirements and contributing to leadership activities of the team.

The role will contribute to and lead projects in any sector and across the product lifecycle. Key project activities include: requirements capture and project scoping; concept modelling and abstracting of client processes; developing appropriate and suitable models informing the delivery of analysis; developing project documentation in line with MTC standards and best practices.
They will also manage client relationships and expectations for these projects.

The role is expected to provide a level of business and technical excellence, and proactively contribute and support the functioning and development of the other technical areas of the team.

The successful candidate is expected to work with limited support and produce project work in line with the BFO team & MTC best practices.

The Person

The ideal candidate for the role of Modelling and Simulation Analyst will have/be:

* At least 3 years experience working in a project based environment;

* Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills;

* A relevant engineering or mathematics background, with a particular focus to industrial applications;

* Significant experience conducting factory modelling and simulation studies;

* Subject matter industrial experience in one or more of the core areas of the team: Discrete Event Simulation, Cost modelling, Kinematic modelling;

* Excellent communication skills.
