Senior Technician (Structural)

Job Description

·Working under minimal supervision in the production of drawing information using AutoCAD, Civils 3D and Revit platforms, with responsibility for specific deliverables on project work. This will also include some supervision of other Technician staff

·Working on AutoCAD and Civils 3D / Revit platforms and widely recognised as having an expertise in both platforms.

·Delivering production information within defined project timescales. This may also include managing other technicians in the delivery of information.

·Delivering a variety of drawing information and detailed designs and demonstrating a level of expertise in a number of areas including, but not limited to GA's, Sections, RC Detailing, Drainage Layouts and Details, Highways Layouts and Details, External Works and Structural Arrangements and Details in a variety of materials (including concrete, steel, timber and masonry).

·Assisting Engineers and Technicians and providing technical support in delivering design projects; and providing technical support to Apprentices and Technicians as part of their ongoing development.

·Managing and co-ordinating electronic Civils 3D and Revit models to ensure co-ordination between different design disciplines.

·Liaising with other construction professionals in the development of drawing information.

·Developing relationships with clients and other professionals with the aim of promoting their company and identifying new opportunities.

·Working within company BIM protocols and standards; and taking a lead role in implementing these standards within project work. Also actively promoting the implementation of these standards across all technicians within the office.

·Working within company CAD standards.
