Public Sector-type organisation is recruiting for Business Analysts, circa £48,000 basic + INCREDIBLE pension and benefits.
80% remote working, Manchester-based
Description
The Business Analyst will work as part of a multi-disciplined team to manage a customer's requirements through the project life cycle from initial analysis, requirements definition, documentation and development through to testing.
They will be responsible for communication of any requirements to the project team as well as the wider business audience as necessary.
- Gathering clear and concise requirements, delivery of which provides a solution that meets business requirements and is appropriate for the business benefit received.
- Preparing business requirements, documenting 'As Is' and 'To Be' processes and delivering process flows and maps
- Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
- Prepare technical reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
- Communicate with internal colleagues to understand the needs of departments and the organisation as a whole.
- Gain buy-in and seek approval, from senior stakeholders, regarding delivery of recommendations to the business.
- Ensure solutions proposed meet the business purpose/benefit
- Preparing and presenting business cases, invitations to tender and statements of requirements
- Define project backlogs and sprint backlogs
- Conduct all Business Analyst user acceptance testing
- To document processes & requirements to ensure smooth workflow, using techniques such as Use Cases, User Stories, Wire Framing, Storyboards and Story Mapping
- Provide references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
- Contribute to, and review testing scripts with Quality Assurance team members
- Ensure that all governance requirements are fully adhered to at all times and evidenced to your line manager
- To consider potential risks attached to suggestions made
- Raise awareness of and develop good business analysis practice across the organisation, contributing to training and development as required
Profile
- A proven background in efficiently managing own workload
- The ability to motivate others and lead change
- The ability to communicate effectively
- Good root cause analysis and problem solving skills
- Experience of working with external clients and third parties
- Experience in analysing data to draw business-relevant conclusions and in data visualisation techniques and tools
- Experience of working within a portfolio, programme or project team environment
- The ability to efficiently diagnose and resolve complex issues
- An awareness of public administration (central government in particular) or the NHS and the context in which it operates - desirable but not essential
- Agile techniques such as defining user stories & acceptance criteria, story mapping, wire framing
- Experience of working with project methodologies in an Agile software development environment
- Relevant professional qualifications such as BCS Business Analysis
- Excellent analytical skills and an informed, evidence-based approach
- Previous experience in Business/Systems Analysis
- The ability to look at the process of the organisation from different levels of scope and identify areas of weakness and/or risk to operational activity
- The ability to manage own projects and workload prioritising where necessary
- Experience of using appropriate tools, methods and techniques for information capture and information modelling to document and understanding of structure, relationships, process and information flows
- Demonstrate dedication and a strong sense of customer service
- Provide balance between customer needs and client operational interests
- The ability to take on a Project Lead BA role upon request, delegating work, reviewing documentation and providing estimations where required.
