The Senior Automation Engineer has extensive knowledge and proficiency in automation and analyses, plans, coordinates and drives multiple complex automation initiatives, projects and systems to meet automation deliverables. In this role, you'll help to drive and encourage Sage groups to break new ground, overcome challenges and reach new levels of automation achievement that can extend the reach of automation with the goal of reducing / redirecting manual testing costs across Sage while growing quality standards.

Ideally you'll have a strong background in Automated testing, load testing, API testing and scripting, plus experience of Selenium and tools like SoapUI, JMeter, Postman and so on.

- Design, develop and execute QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality.
- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Demonstrate an in-depth level of understanding of the system under test to enable risk assessment/mitigation and detailed estimation, creation and execution of test artefacts.
- Plan and execute specific testing approaches within defined stage of development e.g. rapid, risk based, exploratory, regression, security, usability etc.
- Take ownership for the full end to end testing phase, working with your own team and coordinating cross divisional test activities where needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge sharing activities across teams, disciplines, functions and locations.
- Review and maintain existing automation suites to ensure they are optimised, maintainable and as efficient as possible.

- An instinctive attention to detail in all aspects of working and an ability to review the work of others and provide rich data feedback.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, coaching, mentoring.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Good problem-solving approach.
- Experience of using automation tools (JMeter, Postman, SOAPUI).
- Experience in Selenium desired.
- Keen curiosity about learning new technologies.
- ISTQB Foundation or equivalent would be a plus
