Job description

The Pinnacle Learning Trust was established in 2017, to build upon the excellent work of the founding colleges and their shared belief that young people in Oldham and the local area should have access to excellent educational provision. Working within and beyond the Trust (via our Professional Development offer and designation as an Associate Research School and EdTech Demonstrator) the Trust aims to provide support and drive improvement in all phases of education. Currently comprising three academies, a primary, a secondary and a sixth form college, the Trust has aspirations to grow, through a carefully managed approach to growth.

Chief Financial Officer

Full time, permanent, to commence February 2022 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Trustees are looking to recruit an outstanding Chief Financial Officer to work closely with the Executive Principal and Trust Executive Team in ensuring the Trust's excellent financial position is maintained and enhanced, for the benefit of the young people in our care.

The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Trust Executive Team, providing advice on strategic financial issues and taking responsibility for financial management and for the leadership and management of the Trust finance and estates teams, in addition to having a number of additional Trust level responsibilities.

In addition to leading the finance team, the Chief Financial Officer will contribute to strategy and policy development to support the Trust's aims and objectives, will ensure the provision of management information for academy planning and monitoring systems, and will ensure the completion of key financial and statistical returns to external agencies. The Chief Financial Officer will also lead on Trust level work in respect of Estates, Health and Safety and Risk Management.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Chartered or Chartered Certified accountant, willing to continue with their professional development. Experienced in working at a senior level, self-motivated and highly capable, you will be expected to be a good team player, a highly effective communicator, with great attention to detail and strong IT skills.

Salary: £70-74K per annum.
