Your new role

As Category Manager you will be responsible for developing and implementing a category strategy for the warehousing and transportation categories across the UK and EU. You will work together with suppliers and internal logistics and supply chain personnel to deliver cost reduction, cash generation and mitigate supply risk.
This role is accountable for creating and achieving cost savings, cash flow improvements, capacity security, service performance, quality targets and ensure all savings are fully reported consistently within established Group reporting mechanisms. You will steer the resolution of key commodity quality and supply issues ensuring appropriate Key Performance Indicators are provided and targets are delivered and lead a team of multinational and multi-location buyers to ensure sourcing requirements are met in a timely, compliant and cost-effective manner.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent experience and CIP's would be preferable but not essential.
You will need experience and knowledge of Transportation & Warehouse as well as advanced procurement expertise. Commercially and analytically experienced and be highly organised and able to work under significant time pressure, managing multiple projects simultaneously.

System skills - ideally Ariba, Excel, PowerPoint, Word experience and a working knowledge of SharePoint\/Office 365 and SAP

You also need strong, well developed Communication and Interpersonal skills are essential as they will have exposure to Suppliers, internal and external Customers and potentially Competition
