Role: Mechanical Fitter / Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Salary: £39,500 per annum + overtime & benefits
Hours: 4 days a week - Days Only
Location: Commutable from Stockport, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Wilmslow, Stretford and surrounding areas

Due to two retirements of 50 years and 20 years service, which as you will agree is quite extraordinary, we are looking to recruit a rare opportunity for someone to join the Mechanical Maintenance Team. The team are fantastic and all help and support one another.
If you're after a role where you can get your hands dirty, be challenged as well as supported, this role is for you. They also offer opportunities for those with limited multi skilling skills and experience the opportunity to have investment and do some multi skilling courses if this is of interest too.
Responsibilities
Working 4 day shifts a week, you will work within a team of 15 Engineers (2 Mechanical Fitters / Maintenance Engineers and 1 Electrical Maintenance Engineer on shift at any one time), reporting into the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager, your role will include:
Supportive various equipment and machinery, including crushing, extruders, robotics, packaging, conveyors, mixers, driers machinery.
70% of your work is planned preventative, project and continuous improvement work. 30% is reactive, attending to and resolving breakdowns.
Dealing with belts, bearings, motors, gears, pumps, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics etc.
Help support continuous improvements to machinery, planned shutdowns
You will be given a company mobile phone to access maintenance system app, used to help you access outstanding jobs, pass on information such as completed jobs, troubles encountered and uploading/downloading diagrams etc.
You will support a range of plant machinery and equipment, across this big site. Only those interested in a challenge need apply.
Requirements
Completed a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualifications
Experience with mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment
Machinery maintenance experience
Any experience of belts, chains, bearings, pumps, motors, gears, hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, welding or fabrication would be desirable
Proactive work attitude and keen to get stuck in
Friendly and adaptable working attitude
