Business Development Manager (UK)

Near Peterborough

£40000 - £50000pa

Leading composites manufacturer seeking experienced Business Development Manager focusing on the UK, working collaboratively with other Business Development Manager working in Europe.

The focus is composites for commercial vehicles, coaches, mobile homes, agriculture, rail, commercial aerospace & other end user clients. T

hese clients require product solutions that are significantly lower cost and lighter than conventional composites and are often cost competitive with aluminium, are stiff, complex shapes and can be very large components, low BOM and fast to market and meet demanding aerospace FAR 25.853 and rail EN 45545 Fire, Smoke, Toxin and Heat Release standards. Candidates will be trained on the products and sales. Compensation is a base plus a percentage of sales.

Job Responsibilities

Focus. Focusing on bringing in composite sales for prospects in targeted segments in the UK.

New and Repeat Sales. Cold sales & warm leads sales, cross selling, up-selling, expanding % of business with new and with current clients.

Collaboration. Work collaboratively with other Directors of Business Development team located in Europe.

Trade Shows and Other Networking Events. Participate in trade shows and other networking events in UK and Europe. Build relationships with industry institutions and other suppliers

Market Intelligence. Collection of composites market/competitor intelligence information to expand the sales, identify new growth opportunities and competition.

Realistic. Realistic annual sales/budget planning at prospect and customer level.

Person Specification

Education.

University degree in engineering, business or equivalent

Experience.

10+ years of B2B sales/business development experience. Preferably some experience in composites

Good Contacts. Established and well-developed UK contact network

Experience in Market Segments.

Commercial background gained selling manufactured products in commercial vehicles, coaches, mobile homes, agriculture, rail or commercial aerospace.

Market Knowledge.

Good manufactured products market intelligence and potential sales

Skilled om Business Development.

Skilled in professional presentation of the Company to potential and current customers.

Closer. Proven composite or similar product sales & negotiation skills plus experience, with track record of closing opportunities and growing revenues/profits

Work in a Team. Ability to communicate confidently & work with all levels and all functional groups within the company

Drive. Strong sense of initiative, goal oriented and drive to achieve results

Organization. Good organization and planning skills

Computer Skills. Possess good computer skills in Word, Excel, Power Point & CRM etc
