Your new company
A Higher Education Institution in Central Manchester which is at the forefront of innovation.

Your new role
This a temporary full-time role starting as soon as possible and until March 2022.
Reporting to the engineering faculty you will provide comprehensive and confidential support to staff and students alike. This is an all-round department administration role with a high level of student and staff interaction and you will be required to hit the ground running.

Supporting the Teaching & Learning Student Experience Manager, Director of Teaching and Learning and the student population, you will work across the Department to support the delivery of a positive student experience.

You will be able to work with colleagues to improve the interaction between the Department and its students through the development of administrative structures and operational processes.

You will be required to develop and deliver department events which promote and enhance the student experience and ensure that high quality communication with students via emails and face to face meetings.
You will be dealing with incoming communications (mail, electronic mail and telephone enquiries) with diplomacy, tact and discretion; drafting responses and taking other appropriate follow up action as required.

You will also be required to contribute to the development of administrative systems in support of administration within the Faculty.

You will be an excellent communicator and able to communicate at all levels. This is a diverse and busy role which would suit a candidate who is flexible, able to hit the ground running and equally someone who will pitch in when required during peak times to support team members.

Excellent IT skills are required as you will be providing slick administrative support across the department.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be an experienced administrator that has previously worked within a HE sector. This is a very varied administrative role therefore you will be required to be both flexible and adaptable.
The role is temporary and the working hours are 35 per week Monday to Friday and will be a mixture of remote working and on campus following government guidelines.

Previous administration experience within the HE sector and experience of working with students and academics is essential along with a professional manner. Excellent communication skills and a polite and friendly approach are also essential.
