Job description

Marlowe Fire and Security Group are currently expanding through an unprecedented period of growth and we are on a fast-paced buy and build strategy. Having acquired a number of new businesses into the group recently we are now looking to grow our IT department. As part of this development and expansion, we are looking to recruit somebody who can bring skills to consolidate and manage our large scale Active Directory and Office365 tenants using industry best practice. With a user base fast approaching 1000, and with regular acquisitions and organic growth, we need a colleague looking for a challenge.

The core focus of this role is to manage and maintain the Windows system and Server network across the Marlowe Fire and Security Group. Your duties will include:

Being responsible for installing or upgrading Windows based systems and servers
Managing user access to systems
Maintaining the security and stability of the network across the group.
Be the 3rd stage escalation point for the more complex help desk issues.
Being involved in system design for the future
Support the team by monitoring the day to day running of all corporate systems and ensuring that that are working effectively.

As this is a group wide role, there will be an element of travel to our other sites involved. This will usually be no more than 2/3 times per month however if we are going through a major role out, this could increase slightly. The successful candidate will need to be flexible to do this as and when required.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have previous experience in infrastructure with a focus on Windows and intel. You will have experience in:

Assessing the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows systems.
Discussing / planning system and server upgrades with managers.
Installing or upgrading Windows systems and servers as well as providing technical support for staff and back-end system users.
Reviewing system error logs and user-reported errors.
Managing user access and monitoring system performance whilst maintaining server architecture security and creating system backups.
Experience of Virtualisation solution - VMWare & Anti-malware solutions •
You will have good practical networking and have excellent problem-solving skills.
