Tradewind are recruiting for a caring & nurturing Early Years Teaching Assistant for a special needs primary school in Trafford!

To join us and be successful in this Early Years Teaching Assistant role, you will need to:

have an enhanced DBS certificate (or be happy to apply for a new one), Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks.
Provide a CV with at least 10 years employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained.
Have the legal right to work in the UK.
Some experience supporting young people at Early Years age.
Experience as a Nursery Assistant, Nursery Nurse, Early Years Teaching Assistant, Primary Teaching Assistant or Support Worker with Early Years will be considered.

About the role:

Early Years Teaching Assistant in a special needs primary school in Stretford in Trafford.
Start date - January 5th.
Full time and long term with the potential to turn in to a permanent contract.
Pay up to £75 per day.
Supporting pupils on a group or 1:1 basis.
Children are active so you need to match their level of energy and will need to be proactive and use your initiative.
Most young people are going through a diagnosis for SEN with suspected needs being Autism, Learning Needs, Sensory Needs or Communication Needs.

About the pupils:

All pupils are aged 2-11 and have an EHCP for SEN with the majority having Autism (ASC).
The follow P-Scales and Early Years EYFS curriculum as well as other alternative curriculum aspects suited to the needs of their children.
Some young people have lower learning levels and need support with understanding and comprehension.
There are also Speech & Language needs and use PECS or Makaton to communicate.
Some pupils have Sensory Needs so an appreciation and empathy towards this is needed.
