Senior Care and Support Assistant - Part Time

Tollemache Respite Service, Prenton

£10.27

30 hours per week - varying shift pattern between 7am- 10pm across 7 days per week

We are seeking a Senior Care and Support Assistant to make a real difference to the lives of our residents. Located in a quiet area of Prenton, Tollemache Road is a purpose-designed respite care home. We provide short-term respite care and support for 10 adults aged 18 to 65, with a range of learning disabilities and complex or high needs. The role of Senior Care and Support Assistant will include:

Leading a team of Care and Support Assistants and ensuring that residents are being supported in the best way possible
Providing personal care and encouraging residents to maximise their independence and personal potential, by building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments as well as managing and implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the health, safety and security of our residents
Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
Completing supervisions

Skills and experiences:

Previous experience supervising staff is desirable
Personalised approach to care with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
Recent experience of working in a similar role with vulnerable people is essential
Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong "can-do" attitude
Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
Occasional travel may be requirement of the role, therefore a full valid driving licence is desirable
