Transport Operations Manager - PCV

Job description

A leading operator of passenger transport based in East Anglia is seeking an Operations/ Transport Manager. Responsible for 60+ staff, you must have a good understanding of the industry, possess customer care and quality control skills together with an excellent knowledge of IT and report writing. Prior to the pandemic the operator had a diverse variety of customers in the Local, National and European markets which they are working hard to safely restore.

The ideal candidate will have operational management experience in the coaching industry, be an Operator CPC holder and have a full understanding of PCV Operator Licence compliance. The company is looking for someone who can bring experience of the passenger transport industry together with regulatory knowledge, passion, commitment and excellent customer service.

In this role, you will hold overall management and responsibility for the Operations department of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Taking appropriate action against any infringements and undertake retraining as required
Ensuring transport operations meet all relevant transport and health & safety legislation
Working with the Engineering Manager on all aspects of fleet maintenance
Ability to schedule a busy workload using PHC in a timely and efficient manner
Proven experience in PCV Transport/ Operations Management and a working knowledge of EU driver hours regulations essential
Experience in compliance management essential
A proactive, flexible approach required
Excellent organisational skills a must
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear instruction concisely and accurately
Significant management and leadership abilities, highlighted by previous experience of discipline and team management

As an experienced manager you must be able to demonstrate a track record of delivering excellent service to high and exacting standards, have proven people and interpersonal skills, and the ability to support the business exceeding delivery expectations.

Experience:

PCV Transport/ Operations Manager - 1 year (required)
Full UK Driving Licence with PCV (category D) entitlement is essential
Operators CPC (Certificate in Professional Competence), or be willing to achieve CPC status within 6 months of employment.
