Appointments will not usually be made above point L10 (£29495) and progression beyond point L10 is subject to the attainment of certain qualifications

Looking for something different? This is a unique opportunity to work in a fantastic department at The College of West Anglia. We offer a completely different approach to maths teaching than a Secondary school- there are no progress 8 measures to worry about and we focus on good quality Teaching and Learning in all that we do.

We are a successful, community-focused FE College based in the East of England. We have a thriving English and maths faculty and we now have a new role available- a Full-Time maths post. In recent years, the departments have grown from strength to strength and we are now at the forefront of using digital technologies, we offer an incredible training package and a chance to work within tight knit, kind, supportive teams.

For the maths post you must have a Level 3 qualification maths (A Level) or equivalent and experience of teaching maths. You must also have a Level 5 teaching qualification (Diploma in Education/DTLLS/Cert Ed/PGCE) or equivalent or be willing to obtain one within the first 3 years of employment. You must also have Level 2 English (GCSE A*-C/9-4) or equivalent or be willing to obtain within the first 18 months of employment.

The work we do in English and maths is shared as a beacon of good practice: we network with other providers on a regular basis and showcase our innovative work with the ETF. We foster a culture of sharing good practice in all we do.

We have great facilities on site and dedicated areas within the college that are identified as English and maths classrooms. This allows us to always be on hand to support each other. Each department has a coordinator that leads and helps staff to be the best that they can. The management team is friendly and highly supportive. We all love doughnut Friday!

Our team do all we can to develop students, working tirelessly to help them gain their crucial qualifications in GCSE and Functional Skills. Recently, we have developed our adult provision to deliver to more and more adults. We continue to do all we can to be the best we can- come and join a dedicated and passionate teaching team.
