Job description

Information Advice and Guidance Adviser roles
£19,270 - £23,041 pa
37 hours pw / 52 weeks

Are you passionate about empowering students and supporting them to fulfil their potential? Do you already hold an IAG or Careers qualification, or would you be interested in completing a fully funded Level 4 Careers and IAG qualification with the potential to progress on to Level 6?

We are expanding our Advice & Guidance team and we are looking for people who can inspire, someone who has excellent communication and presentation skills and a desire to help students realise their career potential.

We will invest in your professional development to give you the tools you need to do this important job in our College.

The Adviser position works at the heart of the City College Norwich campus in the Advice Shop. Working with likeminded people, the role requires teamwork, flexibility, and problem-solving skills to deal with the variety of enquiries we receive. General day to day duties include providing advice and guidance to current and potential students through drop-in appointments, emails and telephone enquiries, live chat, school liaison activities and open days.

Support for existing students is through delivering high quality Careers appointments, planning and presenting employability workshops and talks that enable students to succeed in the next stage of their development. There is also a lot of involvement with the UCAS applications, assisting with personal statement writing, how to apply and making choices about next steps.

The post includes some regular evening and weekend work throughout the year.

The ideal candidates will be Level 6 qualified, have a background in education, an understanding of the local labour market and knowledge of the employability skills required for various roles and positions. However, we are open to applications from anyone with relevant transferable skills and we are offering mentoring and coaching new staff through their induction and journey through the qualifications and advice and guidance career pathway.

These roles are being offered as permanent full time positions with excellent benefits.
