Environmental Manager
Norwich Western Link
Ferrovial Construction has recently been awarded the contract to design and build the Norwich Western Link by Norfolk County Council. The project involves designing and building 6.1km of dual carriageway, a 670m viaduct over the River Wensum and 6 structures for minor roads and environmental crossings.
The aim of the project is to improve the connectivity of Norwich national road networks whilst taking into account the natural and built environment and local communities. The project opens up new opportunities for people in Norfolk, offers a gateway into STEM careers in the industry and creates sustainable career paths.
Description of Activities to be undertaken
* Oversee and coordinate Works Packages in the project
* Provide support to the Environmental Advisors
* Sustainability reporting
* Production and review of Environmental Management Plans
* Undertake Environmental inspections and audits
* Provide environmental advice with regard to design, legal compliance and construction to the team and subcontractors
* Provide a point of contact between the site and design teams
* Attend client and subcontractor meetings
* Provide environmental assurance role including regular site inspections and ensuring that works meet legal and project requirements and standards
* Environmental KPI data management, analysis and reporting to meet parent company and BREEAM credit requirements
* Managing and driving the BREEAM construction phase assessment process including gathering appropriate evidence
Skills, qualifications and experience
* BSc / MSc in an appropriate discipline
* Experience in an environmental role within the construction sector.
* CSCS card.
* Management of subcontractors
* Management of programs of environmental deliverables
* Experience in the planning process and dealing with local authorities
* Experience of environmental and sustainability data reporting
