SEN Secondary Maths Teacher

Position: SEN GCSE Maths Teacher
Location: Norwich
Salary: Main Teachers Pay Scale M1-6 (\u00A325,714 - \u00A336,961) dependent on experience

Your new school

Hays Education are working in partnership with an independent SEN school in Norwich and are looking for a SEN Maths Teacher for September 2021. This school is easily commutable from Attleborough, Eccles, Wymondham and Thetford. The school supports young people aged 7-16 years old, who experience difficulties learning in mainstream school environments, such as those with communication difficulties, ASD, ADHD and SEMH.

Your new role as the SEN Maths Teacher

You will need to be a Maths Teacher who can teach Maths to KS 3 and KS 4 pupils and as such your role will be to provide high quality, challenging and differentiated educational activities and experiences through the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum to enable pupils to achieve their full potential in all areas of learning.

Key aspects of the role as SEN Maths Teacher:

* Teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 Maths
* Plan and deliver lessons according to DFE guidance and the school's policies
* Be responsible for the day to day running of the class and other relevant aspects of the running of the school.
* Supervise, provide support and guidance to the Teaching Assistants and Higher Level Teaching Assistants.
* Take responsibility for implementing school policies and practices, including those relating to safeguarding and equality of opportunity.
* Carefully monitor the health, well-being and personal care of pupils
* Informing care\/medical\/behavioural support teams and any other relevant professionals of any concerns.

To apply for this SEN GCSE Maths Teacher job, you must:

* Have Qualified Teacher status (QTLS or QTS), PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (evidence of in-service training is essential).
* Have experience of working in a special school environment and in particular with pupils with autism\/SEMH.
* Have an understanding of the Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures
* Have experience of managing a range of approaches to behaviour, including managing behaviours that challenge
* Have experience of successfully delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs
