Relief Support Worker - Woodlands - Thetford
Are you a person who likes variety?We are looking for individuals to join our team to support eight people (four ladies and four gentlemen), who live within a 24-hour residential care home (known as Woodlands).They all require different levels of support with various day to day tasks and no one day is the same!!
There are a variety of activities enjoyed from craft and pampering sessions, music & karaoke, card games, cooking and sensory sessions. We have one young lady who loves to help out in the office, the kitchen and a gentleman who really enjoys listening to music, singing along and dancing.
As a Relief Support Worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts. You will have the ability to work flexibly across the weekdays, weekends and bank holidays depending on your availability and the hours being offered to you. Shifts vary including mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep ins and waking nights. Flexibility is therefore essential for us to be able to meet the needs of the people we support.
The role of a Relief Support Worker can be challenging at times, so it is essential to have a positive mind-set with a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability. You will need to be quick thinking with a positive can-do attitude.

What does a Relief Support Worker do?
As a Relief Support Worker you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will enormously contribute to the people we support, living a more comfortable, dignified, liberated and happy life.
- Personal care - helping people to get ready for the day and assisting with bathing, showering and using the bathroom.
- Supporting people to live independently - budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking delicious healthy meals.
- Excellent communication skills/relationship building - supporting the person to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
- Community & Social Inclusion- Supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and Social events to promote life skills and individuality.
