Transport & Logistics Manager - Milton Park - Oxfordshire - £45,000 - £55,000

Role: Transport & Logistics Manager

Field: Manufacturing/Engineering/Radioactive

Reporting to: Site Manager

Hours of work: Mon - Thurs (07:30 - 16:00), Fri (07:30 - 12:30)

Basic salary: £45,000 - £55,000 dependant on experience

Benefits: 24 days plus bank holidays, pension 8% (5% employer, 3% employee contribution)

A Leading manufacturer, specialising in sterilisation of equipment across food, medical device and the health care industry are looking to recruit for a Transport & Logistics Manager.

You will manage and maintain national and international transport operations of radioactive sources and ensuring that products are moved safety, reliably and in a cost effective manner to meet business needs.

The Role:

* Establish and manage relationships with key suppliers including; agents, freight forwarders and port and customs authority. You will also pro-actively seek alternative/backup supplier to minimise risks, and negotiate shipment costs

* Provide effective stock/inventory management/control and shipping documentations

* Be compliant with key industry bodies and regulations which may include; Transport Regulatory Agencies (UK & Oversees), Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) , International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), HMRC Regulations, European Union Transport Policy, and other relevant Road Transport & Logistics regulations

* Work closely with the Site Manager to coordinate the company's response to all transport security related matters

* Be the main point of contact as the company's Export Controller to ensure compliance with UK strategic controls

* Maintain High-Activity Sealed Radiative Sources (HASS) tracker databases

* Manage logistics planning for movements of loaded and empty packaging as well as carry out specific transport arrangements with documentations relating to imports and exports via sea/air/road

Requirements:

* Relevant Transport & Logistics qualifications i.e. CILT or qualified to HND/NVQ level 4 in relevant field

* Formal qualifications or memberships from professional bodies linked to Logistics and Freight Industries would be desirable but not essential i.e. IMDG, IATA,ADR, IAEA

* Proven industry experience within a Transport Management/Supply Chain Management role and experience of international shipments mainly by Road and Sea

* It would be advantageous to have experience of experience of dangerous goods but not an essential requirement

* Valid UK Driving License

* As this is mainly based in the Milton Park site in Oxfordshire, you will be located within a reasonable distance or willing to relocate
