Job description

White Label are proud to be partnered up with an Engineering Consultancy based in Oxford who are looking to recruit Materials Technologist.

You will be part of a group carrying out strategic consultancy, materials characterisation, research and development and product quality improvement activities in a UKAS accredited laboratory. In time there will be opportunities to develop into a broader role providing high-quality consultancy and technical services to customers in the global aluminium industry.

You will be working in a close-knit team and there will be long term progression for the right candidate. The aluminium industry is growing massively and it's exciting area to be specialise in.

The day to day

* Taking a lead role in the delivery of experimental work programmes to support the teams R&D project portfolio and evolving customer needs.

* Documenting results and writing reports.

* Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.

* Developing new experimental techniques and associated procedures.

* Communicating effectively with colleagues, customers and research partners. Maintaining our leadership position in aluminium alloy technology and associated IP.

* Contributing to the long-term growth of the business through the identification and delivery of strategic initiatives.

* Timely execution of tasks and delivery of results to ensure business financial targets are met.

* Working responsibly and safely at all times in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.

Requirements

* Educated to degree level or equivalent in Materials Science, Engineering, Metallurgy or similar.

* Knowledge of aluminium alloy metallurgy, products, and processes would be advantageous.

* Must have an interest in materials science.

* Familiarity with experimental techniques for materials analysis, for example optical microscopy, electron microscopy and surface characterization techniques.

* Strong attention to detail combined with excellent time management and organizational skills.

* Capable of working both within a team environment and unsupervised.

Package

Salary of £20,000-£30,000 depending on experience.

37 hours per week

Flexible working around core hours

25 days holiday + bank holidays
