What you will be doing as a Warehouse Operative
The Thames Water Logistics Management Centre (LMC) is a central, single point of contact for the business. As a centralised operation, the LMC holds mobile equipment and critical stock at our distribution centres and business resilience hubs. Operating on a 24/7 - 365 basis in order to provide a distribution and equipment service to support the Thames Water business.
As a Warehouse Operative you will be part of the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team and will be required to provide safe custody and real time visibility of our stock holdings. You will ensure a first class professional delivery and collection service across all Thames Water & Alliance locations of critical stock and equipment in order to support the operational teams when facing customer/operational incidences.
The Job
You will be based at Didcot Hub but provide day to day stock management for Distribution Hubs in the wider area with the flexibility to attend all Distributions Hubs when needed with occasional travel to other sites if required. Your main responsibilities will include:

The Job
- £22,000-£23,000 depending on skills and experience
- 36 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- Shift Pattern: 06.00am-14.00pm, 08.00am-16.00pm, 10.00am-18.00pm
- On call rota: Monday-Sunday: On call enhancement, call out charge and overtime paid
- Full training provided
You will be based at Didcot Hub but provide day to day stock management for Distribution Hubs in the wider area with the flexibility to attend all Distributions Hubs when needed with occasional travel to other sites if required. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Safely and securely loading and unloading of vehicles
- Using SAP to ensure that inventory levels reflect real time holdings
- Managing daily receipts from Distribution Centres
- Actioning returns against works orders
- Updating stock records accordingly
- Maintaining good housekeeping throughout the site and stores
- Ensuring equipment and critical stock are delivered and collected on time
- Operate mechanical handling equipment in a safe manner
- Safe custody of Thames Water stock and equipment
- Warehouse and RF scanner experience
- Full UK driving Licence and own transport
- Numerate and Literate
- Basic computer skills
- Comfortable with manual handling, lifting up to 25Kgs
