Blenheim Head and Neck Outpatients provides care and treatment to patients with Ear, Nose and Throat, Plastics Surgery & Maxillofacial conditions making it a very interesting, diverse and rewarding area to work in.

As a nursing assistant in the Blenheim Outpatient Department you will have a great opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills. We are a small dynamic team and you will have the opportunity to develop in your role to assist the Doctors and Nurses running clinics from Monday to Friday. Patients come to us for different reasons, we see them for their first consultation where they get their diagnosis and plan for treatment, pre-operatively to ensure that they are fit enough for surgery and after their operation for complex wound dressing changes following surgery.

We are looking for a confident, outgoing and kind individual to join our team who has the energy and commitment to provide great quality care and who interacts well with patients and colleagues, helping the service to run smoothly and our patients to have a positive experience of their time with us.

In return we will offer you training and development in skills such as taking bloods, doing ECGs, and patient observations such as blood pressure.

We recognise the valuable role of the Nursing Assistant and as such the Trust has its own Nursing Assistant Academy to promote your education and development. You will start with completing The Care Certificate which consists of 15 standards which provide you with fundamental knowledge, confidence and skills to enable you to provide compassionate care to our patients unsupervised. You will receive this award at a celebratory graduation ceremony. After this we will support your ongoing development with in-house training and opportunities to advance in the role and your nursing career.

No experience is necessary for this post, we just ask that you communicate well, have a positive, 'can-do' attitude and can demonstrate a real passion for the work we do and for providing dignified care and compassion to patients.

Our working hours are from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and we are looking for someone to join the team for three days a week.
