Charity Accountant

Kirkhouse Trust SCIO and Edina Trust

The Charity Accountant will maintain the accounting systems and processes of two charities; the Kirkhouse Trust SCIO and the Edina Trust and will ensure each charity complies with FRS 102, HMRC and the Charity Commission requirements.

We are looking for an experienced individual with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently to deadlines.

Our ideal candidate will be experienced with Xero, incl. Payroll, custom report writing and understanding/experience of the project module, good Excel skills and knowledge of basic stock accounting, stock takes and fixed assets.

This is a part-time role, approximately 17.5 hours per week (with some flexibility in working hours during busy periods).

The Kirkhouse Trust SCIO supports crop research to improve the food security and livelihood of the rural poor in sub-Saharan Africa and India. The Edina Trust funds resources for hands on science activities and experiences to enhance primary science education.

The successful candidate will join a small team of 13 employees who work for the two sister charities, both registered in Scotland but administered from Oxfordshire. Each charity was established with funding from a local science company, and both devote the majority of their funds to science related charitable projects.

The successful candidate will be required to complete background checks.
