Opportunity to join an exciting biotech, gaining unique exposure in their computational team.

Your new company

I am currently working alongside an Oxford based biotech that focuses on clinical research and diagnostic solutions. Founded by a team from the University of Oxford, they have aims to progress the future of genetic-based medicine and assist researchers and clinical decision makers to make informed decisions for patient treatment. They are currently looking for a Software Developer to join their computational biology team.
Reporting to the Head of Software Development you will focus on Java software development to aid clients and advance their expertise in microarray and NGS analysis.

Your new role

* Development of software for the internal teams and clients.
* Support the deployment of software to cloud environments.
* Providing technical support for external customers such as training or technical advice.
* Working alongside the computational team to ensure the implemented software features are closely aligned with agreed requirements.
* Observing and managing all required steps of the software release cycle process including testing and handover.
* Working closely and supporting other Computational Biology team members to deliver projects on time and to ensure that the IT infrastructure is robust.
* Contributing to data analysis optimisation by working closely with other computational biology team members.

What you'll need to succeed

* Minimum of BSc, up to MSc level, in Computer Science or equivalent.
* Experienced in working with Java at an industry level.
* Skilled in deploying and managing applications in a cloud environment.
* Database experience preferably MySQL, and UI.
* Generate quality, robust solutions using agile methodologies.
* Be an effective communicator both in writing and verbally.
* Ability to work in a team with great team management skills.
