Global Water Intelligence (GWI) is looking for a Digital Product Manager to play a critical role in delivering the digital roadmap that is set to transform our business. It is an exciting time to join GWI: we are reimagining our business and how we serve our customers, and the digital experience of our customers will sit at the core of our transformation.

In the last 20 years, GWI has established itself as the market leader in providing high-value business information to the water sector. But the world is changing rapidly, as is the way people connect and consume information. We are adapting to meet the needs of our customers in a digital age, rethinking how we deliver on our vision to create the intelligent networks that unite global water communities.

The Digital Product Manager will help make this vision a reality by playing a strategic role in developing our digital roadmap and delivering on a series of website projects that will break the fourth wall of journalism, connecting us meaningfully with our customers, and connecting our customers with the people and ideas that will drive growth and opportunities within their businesses.

Does this sound like you?

You will play an important role in the business, shaping the direction of our digital products and the experience of our customers. We are looking for a strategic thinker who loves to innovate and solve problems to play a meaningful role in driving business growth.

Do you have some experience of managing a team? Have you played a leading role in the delivery of website projects or digital roadmaps? We are looking for someone who can take ownership of our digital products and website projects and manage our small team of in-house developers. This role will sit at the heart of the business, and we need someone who will represent a bridge between content and research, marketing and sales, customer success and development, to deliver digital products that will provide an exceptional experience for our customers and transform our business.

The role
You will report to the Operations Director, but the role will require close collaboration with many teams. Responsibilities include:

  • Strategy Development: Working closely with Design, Content, Marketing and Sales Managers to shape the ongoing development of digital products in line with our strategic business goals.
  • Managing Website Projects: End-to-end ownership of website projects, from the development of the vision, establishing project scope and technical requirements, building a project plan in line with business goals to UAT and project launches.
  • Process Development & Communication Channels: Developing workflows, project management practices and communication channels for the smooth execution of web projects.
  • Improving our Digital Footprint: Make recommendations and develop strategies for improving SEO and general performance of our websites in collaboration with our Digital Marketing lead.
  • Developing Digital Analytics: Make recommendations for our digital analytics, including user behaviour insights, monitoring website performance and UX, and marketing performance metrics.
  • Managing Web Development Team: Oversee the activities and priorities of our brilliant in-house team of 3 web developers and connect them to the vision of the business.

The following qualities or experience would be desirable:

  • Some experience of managing a small team.
  • Experience overseeing digital products or managing website projects.
  • A problem-solving attitude and willingness to tackle different challenges and learn on the job.
  • Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with wireframing/prototyping tools like Adobe XD and Figma would be beneficial.
  • Basic working knowledge of SEO.
  • Time management and the ability to balance multiple ongoing projects.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career, having built up some experience in managing projects and/or people either directly or indirectly. We are looking for someone who is passionate about making an impact and wants to play a strategic role in driving the growth of our business.
