Finance Manager - Part Time 30 Hours \u00A334,500 - \u00A337,500 annual salary (FTE) Faringdon Education Sector

Your new role

This role will be responsible for developing comprehensive and consistent financial procedures, production and monitoring of budgets and delivery of financial support.

Organisation

* Manage the team of Finance Staff ensuring all staff receive annual reports and training where appropriate.
* Provide Financial data and support to the COO and the Leadership Team.
* Attend management team meetings and school local governing body meetings by invitation, to advise on and contribute to discussions relating to finance\/administration matters.

Financial Management and Compliance

* Produce a consolidated monthly Budget report, including revenue and capital highlighting any in-year and monthly variances.
* Analyse and evaluate Balance Sheet transactions, producing a monthly balance sheet reconciliation for reporting purposes.
* Analyse the trial balance on a monthly basis, investigating any anomalies.
* Produce a monthly cash flow report, highlighting any significant variances.
* Download and Import Monthly Bank Statements and reconcile against transactions in Accounting System.
* Maintain the Asset register for accounting purposes.
* Collate end of year information for Accountants and Auditors.
* Monitor External Auditor recommendations.
* Ensure a coherence and accurate approach to budget monitoring and reporting including both resource and capital income and expenditure.
* Oversee the planning and production of budgets
* Monitor and report on all Capital Funding.
* Authorise weekly BACS payments
* Maintaining and continuously improving all systems and procedures to ensure that financial transactions are recorded and reported completely and accurately, with the effective operation of all financial controls.

Payroll

* To be responsible for the final payroll check before authorisation given for payment, to ensure all changes checked by Finance Officers have been made and payments are accurate
* To be responsible for the overall BACS process including the reconciliation of HMRC, TP and LG Pensions and all other third parties.
* Providing the authorisation to payroll provider to send the BACS for all employees salaries, HMRC, Pensions and third parties
* Posting and reconciling monthly payroll journal

What you'll need to succeed

Experience

* Demonstrable experience working in a similar role, at a senior level
* Good experience in an accountancy\/finance office

Qualifications & Training

* AAT qualified or Part Qualified
* NVQ 4 or equivalent qualification or experience in financial discipline
* Excellent numeracy\/literacy skills

Knowledge & Skills

* Effective use of specialist ICT packages PS Financials, BPS or similar
* Experience in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in excel
* Full working knowledge of relevant policies\/codes of practise\/legislation
* Organised and thorough, with a good eye for detail and ability to work to deadlines
* Ability to work independently Rigorous and methodical with the ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
* Ability to organise, lead and motivate other staff
* Ability to plan and develop systems
* Ability to relate and communicate effectively
* Ability to solve problems
* Ability to build strong working relationships
* Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
* Ability to self-evaluate learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
