Learning Support Assistant
£18,158 to £19,302 per annum, pro rata
Various hours and working patterns are available
38 weeks per annum, paid for 43.13 weeks per annum

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities?(SEND)??support?team at Abingdon & Witney College?is expanding,?we are?therefore?looking to appoint?professional,?energetic and enthusiastic people with excellent communication skills to support our students?in a variety of learning environments.?A good working knowledge of??Education and Health Care Plans (EHCPs), ?Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC)?would be an advantage, as well as strategies for other SEN supported needs,?training will also be provided.?
These are varied roles and require dedicated individuals who enjoy working with young people,?some of which have complex needs.? You will possess?the skills?to support students studying from Entry?Level?to Level?3,?enabling?them to succeed and achieve their full potential??academically.? The successful candidates will be responsible for working closely with teaching and cross college support staff in order to ensure that all students progress on to further programmes of study, or employment by achieving all parts of their study programme, as well as developing skills essential to life and independence.?
The role involves working with students on a 1:1 basis, providing classroom and pastoral support and facilitating workshop activities in-group situations.?We work with amazing young people who have a range of learning and support needs,?every day is different and?the support needs will vary, including supporting some students?with personal care.??The college has?a friendly, supportive culture focused on bringing out the best in every individual.
