We have an exciting opportunity for a Sales Lead to join Boeing Defence UK (BDUK), supporting the National Security business area. This role would support telecommuting / virtual working (hybrid) with some presence at the Bristol or other sites as required.
The role:
Lead business development, and the implementation and execution of strategies designed to drive business growth and technology development in multiple UK National Security market domains.
Reporting to BDUK's Head of Sales & Marketing, work in partnership with the Head of National Security and Defence Services, (NS&DS), National Security Account Managers, Programme Managers and Functional leaders across BDUK.
Expand BDUK's role across target areas of the National Security market by opening up and managing strategic customer relationships focused on gaining and building customer trust and building BDUK's credibility in the sector.
Responsible for shaping BDUK's specialist capability areas, in support of Capability Leads, to align the strategic direction of the market. Responsible for promoting and pursuing opportunities across the full breadth of specialist capability areas across all areas of the NS market and for identifying cross-selling opportunities in adjacent markets (Defence, Homeland Security, CNI and Space)
Working in partnership with the Head of NS&DS and delivering with the support of the NS Account Managers Identify, shape, and manage strategic opportunities that support business growth objectives; develop specific campaign strategies & tactics to leverage the Boeing competitive advantage
Leverage market knowledge to support the development of NS&DS Strategy, Long Range Business Plan and development of win strategies and campaign plans.
Maintain and grow an active sales pipeline in support of BDUK's strategic growth plan, ensuring all activity, communication and customer data is recorded.
Lead strategic sales/business development activity with responsibility for closing strategic pursuits in line with Business Plan
Participate in capture and proposal teams to establish overall proposal strategies and value propositions that differentiate BDUK from other potential providers of services and products.
Develop, maintain and grow an extensive network of relationships, with both existing and potential customers; cultivate relationships with potential partners in industry and academia to enhance BDUKs market position and grow the sales pipeline
Provide market and competitor intelligence on National Security markets and insights on competition specific to individual opportunities.
Identify partners with whom BDUK should form strategic relationships and alliances with in order to pursue significant market opportunities, either as part of a direct bidding effort or in order to shape the market
Develop and maintain internal relationships across BDUK to support campaign activity and help promote a capture centric business culture
Actively participate in business forums, National Security professional forums and associations to enhance Boeing's image.
Act as Team leader for other roles associated with Business Growth.

Preferred Education & Experience:
Candidates will ideally have a Bachelor's or Masters degree (not essential) with extensive Business development experience in the UK's National Security and Counter Terrorism markets and in-depth customer/market knowledge.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability and experience in working with managers from a variety of business cultures and disciplines in order to ensure the achievement of common goals.
Ability to engage effectively and build credibility at the most senior levels of government. Confident presenter with significant experience in leading or supporting themes at industry events
Strategic thinking, critical thinking and analytical skills
Highly competent in using MS Office products.
Other information:
Work Authorisation: This requisition is for a locally hired position in the UK. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in the United Kingdom. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Security Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain a UK security clearance for which the Government requires UK Citizenship. A high level of security clearance will be required for this role due to the nature of the area of the business this supports.
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense
