Job description

Looking for an opportunity to make a difference to children?

Become a maths & English tutor with Explore Learning, and bring education to life for our members throughout this academic year and beyond.

We believe that quality education for children and young people across the UK is essential, and more than ever, children need opportunities to grow and develop in confidence. At Explore Learning, our goal is to nurture 50,000 young fearless learners, and provide a service which not only impacts them academically, but also to develop a love for learning.

What will you experience as a tutor with Explore Learning?

You'll get a warm and fuzzy feelingby building meaningful, lasting relationshipswith children and their families through your tutoring sessions. Teaching both maths & English to groups of up to 6 children aged between 4-14,you'll tailor your approach and support consistent progress.

You'll develop your communication, time management and teaching skillsby adapting your approach to each member, identifying new ways to inspire and support them as they develop in their learning. You'lldemonstrate progressconsistently, and enable children to recognise progress towards their goals.

You'll love coming to work each day, surrounded by inspiringcolleagues and working in a vibrant centre; you'll get a buzz out of building confidence in our members, and knowing you supportfamilies in maximising their membership through outstanding delivery of our service.

What does a typical shift look like?

No two shifts look the same; you might deliver one-to-one sessions online, or tutor a group of children working on different topics in our centre. You may even bring an exciting workshop to life to a lively bunch of budding learners. One thing's for certain though; there won't be any lesson planning or marking in sight, as your resources have been created and designed, ready for you to bring to life.

This role is fast-paced, hands-on and varied, and your training will match. Be ready to roll up your sleeves and embrace every challenge; trust us, it's worth it when you see the progress you and your members make. From your first week in the role, you'll learn how to lead the learning experience, and you'll think on your feet to adapt to each family. You'll also hone your communication skills to deliver quality feedback to families, and confidently guide our members towards achieving their goals.

Does this sound like you?

Are you confident in both maths and English, having achieved a grade C/5 or above in your GCSEs (or equivalent), and passionate about working with children in an educational setting?

Do you have initiative to think on your feet when faced with a challenge, and a willingness to learn new skills, taking ownership of your development?

Are you aged 16or over, and currently living in the UK? Please note, you will only be able to do online shifts if you are 17 or over.

You'll be committed to children's safeguarding: promoting the welfare of children and young people.
