Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently looking for a Receptionist to join our Reading office. You will join the support staff team who provide a high quality service to staff and visitors at reception and across various projects at Wood. This position is working Monday through Friday and we anticipate the individual will generally work 32 - 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • To welcome and check-in all visitors to the Reading office ensuring they have a valid security pass and are provided with Wood Health and Safety information
  • To ensure all visitors and staff that cannot produce an Wood ID are issued with the appropriate security pass
  • To answer internal and external calls in a professional and courteous manner via the company switchboard
  • To sort mail and courier items delivered to reception as required
  • To assist staff and visitors to the best of your ability with any requests/queries they may have
  • Record all security access passes on the Event Monitor
  • Arrange couriers via DHL
  • Order stationery and sundries
  • Logging of equipment and stock control of stationery
  • Arrange transport as required for visitors and staff
  • To ensure that all invoices for services provided are checked for accuracy
  • To ensure that all IT Peripherals are distributed and recorded accurately
  • Arrange rotas for sufficient cover of the reception area
  • Maintain the reception area to a high standard of presentation


Skills / Qualifications

  • Experience in an office environment, consulting business experience preferred
  • Excellent phone answering skills and friendly customer service skills
  • Professional demeanour with co-workers, visitors, clients and vendors
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
  • Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work in team situations with multiple priority management
  • Detail oriented, proactive individual who takes ownership of their work
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required
