Service Support Manager

Location: Presteigne

Salary: £26,500 per annum based on 37.5 hours per week

Closing Date: Monday 13th December 2021

Interview Date: Week commencing 20th December 2021

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Support Manager for our children's residential home based in Presteigne.

As part of the Leadership team and will support the Head of Care and the Head of Education to create an environment that demonstrates professional standards ensuring that support services are efficient, effective, and commercially viable.

You will support the service to develop and maintain positive working relationships with Placing Authorities, Social Services and Health Commissioners, Visitors, Families, Estyn, CIW.

A day in the life of a Service Support Manager with Orbis Education and Care Involves:

Ensuring effective communication systems and mechanisms operate interdepartmentally across the home and school with the wider Company. These systems and mechanisms will be robust and generate an auditable trail to ensure operational effectiveness;
Overseeing the effective management of all visitors / meetings by ensuring an appropriate venue and facilities are available;
Ensuring that vehicles are maintained, and the weekly checks are sent to the Fleet Coordinator in a timely manner;
Manage, monitor, and maintain agreed budgets and take corrective action in conjunction with the Head of Care where this is necessary;
Develop and maintain a database and network of contacts relevant to the service;
Assist in building effective working teams, including reviewing team structures to ensure maximum efficiency in discussion with the Head of Care;
Ensure that the Health and Safety checks in the home are accurate complete and up to date;
Ensure that there is a suitable system in place to manage and monitor the resources in the service including alarms, fobs, pagers, and any other equipment in the service.

To be a successful Service Support Manager with Orbis Education and Care, you'll need:

Management qualification or equivalent level of experience;
A high standard of basic education regarding numeracy and literacy;
Relevant senior administrative/managerial experience;
Experience and understanding of human resource practices, policies, and procedures;
Experience of Health and Safety policies, procedures, and practices;
An enthusiastic leader with a demonstrative personality, conduct, and credibility to set, maintain and exceed consistent high-quality standards commensurate with organisational expectations;
Target driven - with the ability to work to, and set, timely performance goals/targets and clear objectives.
