About the role:
Here at Babcock International we are currently recruiting an Obsolescence Manager for our DSG business, based out of Donnington with remote working available during the week.
This is a great opportunity for someone to join us as an Obsolescence Manager managing the supply chain from an obsolescence perspective. This role will give you the ability to look for innovative technical solutions to obsolescence challenges.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Engineer or Technician, with supply chain experience and knowledge of obsolescence management, risk management, through life costing, procurement & supply chain management and Project Management principles.
What will you be doing?
As an Obsolescence Manager you will be looking for alternatives to obsolete parts and solving obsolescence issues for Armoured Tracked vehicles.
Your duties will include.
• Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders ensuring all have an established and effective obsolescence management service
• Establishing a strong working relationship within the extant supply network for the Heavy fleet and assigned platforms
• Stakeholder management and effective integration with members of staff across the DSG business, I&RM and Operations
• Frequent stakeholder engagement with Customer representatives.
• Establishing working relationships with all functions to ensure obsolescence management is embedded with the business
• Internal briefings and support to all Babcock DSG key stakeholders raising awareness and understanding the goals and impacts of the obsolescence management policy
The experience you'll bring
• You will have previous experience in one of the following roles: Obsolescence Management/ILS/Through-Life Support/Supportability
• You will have a good understanding of the Defence sector
• You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
