Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is currently seeking a Landscape Technician to join our Landscape Team in Shrewsbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with landscape professionals, as well as urban designers, architects, master planners and town planners at Wood, and to shape your future career within one of the country's leading multi-disciplinary consultancies.

You will be involved in preparing Zone of Theoretical Visibility (ZTV) plans, photomontages of development proposals and other supporting plans and sections. This material is essential to assist the assessment of a diverse portfolio of important large-scale development projects, including onshore wind farms, grid connection and power stations.

Whilst predominantly a desk-based role there will also be opportunities for site visit photography.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical plans, visualisations and other material to best practice guidance standards (Landscape Institute Technical Guidance Note 06/19) across a diverse range of development projects at a range of scales, in both urban and rural settings
  • Undertaking site visits with colleagues to obtain photography (day and night)


Skills / Qualifications

Skills and Experience:

Essential:
  • Competent in AutoCAD or equivalent CAD programme
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Competent in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud or equivalent graphics programmes
  • Competent in GIS software
  • Attention to detail and desire to learn new software applications

Desirable:
  • Competent in specialist industry software including Resoft Windfarm and LSS
  • Experience at undertaking photography in the field

Qualifications:

Essential:
  • Minimum 5 GCSE grades A-C and 2 A-levels or equivalent qualifications
  • Full driving licence

Desirable:
  • Further education qualification e.g. degree in relevant subject
