Working pattern: Seven days. Shift patterns 7.30 - 15.30, 13.30 - 21..00 till 8.00 .

Whitchurch Community Hospital is the largest Community Hospital site within Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust. With over 600 admissions per year this is a busy ward proving high quality rehabilitation, step up/down provision, palliative and end of life care. The hospital has 32 beds with an additional capacity for 4 escalation beds.

We are looking to recruit additional Health Care Assistants to join our team. The successful applicant will, following Induction, work within the ward delivering safe and effective patient care under the guidance and supervision of the Registered Nurses and Associate Practitioners.

You will have a vital role within the team supporting our patients with personal, medical and rehabilitation needs. This will involve supporting trained nurses, therapist, medical staff and ward co-ordinators in care planning, evaluation and discharge. Promoting a good patient experience is essential to us and our core values.

*** Important information regarding DBS checks *** If the position being applied for requires a DBS check to be undertaken on you, you are required to pay the fee for the DBS check which is £50.00 for an Enhanced check and £30.00 for a Standard check

Staff who are new to the NHS will normally start on the bottom increment of the payscale advertised. From 1st April 2019 new starters to the NHS or those promoted to a new role will be subject to pay progression arrangements as contained in Annex 23 of Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions.

BANK: If you are applying for a bank position, please ensure you are able to meet the minimum shift requirements:

Clinical Bank Workers - To ensure professional practice and competence is up to date a minimum of 6 assignments must be undertaken in each period of 3 months and you must attend any training you are notified of. It is your responsibility to provide evidence that your professional practice is up to date.

Non-clinical Bank Workers - A minimum of 1 assignment must be undertaken in a 6 month period and you must attend any training you are notified of.
