The Role

The Bid Manager will be responsible for the creation and completion of bids and tenders from RFQ through to final submission. You will ensure technical accuracy in line with on customer specifications or requirements, in order to achieve market competitiveness.

Whilst supporting customers within traditional transmission and distribution markets up to 400kV, you will also support an influx of new enquiries within new industrial markets, as well as Power Generation, Renewables and Private Network Connections.

This is the perfect role for a technically competent engineer, looking to develop their experience within the commercial and financial side of projects and deliver high value bids and tenders for industry-leading projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluation of client enquiry documentation and interpretation of their requirements, and assessment of commercial terms and conditions.
Formulate competitive bids/estimates/quotations, taking into account the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations for each individual situation.
Manage the preparation of all technical, financial, cash flow and operational delivery aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
Identify potential risks and opportunities in contract agreements across customers/channels.
Identifies potential vendors for equipment and materials required in the project and evaluate supplier offers to match with specifications in collaboration with Supply Chain Management.
Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Provide any necessary technical support to Sales Managers during meetings with customers.
The Person

This is the perfect role for a technically competent engineer, looking to develop their experience within the commercial and financial side of projects and deliver high value bids and tenders for industry-leading projects.

The successful candidate will have 5-10 years experience within sales and tendering, with knowledge of industrial substations from 66kv through to 400kV.

You will have previous experience supporting customers with technical applications, alongside the ability and confidence to engage directly with senior stakeholders both internally and externally.
