Technical Buyer

Russell Taylor is actively recruiting a Buyer to work in Staffordshire.
The candidate should have a minimum of 1 years' experience of working within a procurement role.

Role Description:
* Manage and continuously review the Purchase Order System (SAP & MARI Project), to ensure it is accurate, and meets the requirements of the business.
* Challenge suppliers to maximise margin and value for the benefit of the business.
* Enhance relationships with suppliers and compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.
* Oversee areas of direct and in-direct expenditure.
* Support the Sales Team with tenders and bids to ensure that the company is engaging with the best possible sources of supply who offer the best value proposition.
* Evaluate and support resolution on material quality, price queries, supply issues, delivery errors, and invoice discrepancies.
* To maintain a professional and supportive relationship with suppliers and internal departments to deliver business objectives and deadlines.
* Review and manage Preferred Suppliers List

Essential Requirements:
* Experience in materials and sourcing management within a design or manufacturing environment.
* Strong track record of negotiating terms of business.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
* Strong planning, organisational, analytical, communication and networking skills are required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to build rapport and communicate appropriately at all levels.
