*About This Job:*
The Director, Employee Communications EST-C is responsible for the development of robust communications strategies that support Internal, Employee and Corporate Communications. As a communications subject matter expert, this position will lead, develop and implement strategic communications plans that drive employee engagement and external visibility in support of Astellas business goals.
This position provides senior communications leadership and counsel to all parts of the organisation, including EST-C Leadership Committee and affiliate General Managers, to ensure effective and aligned internal communications and serves as a senior advisor on employee-related issues in strategic business planning.
*Key Activities:*
* Provide strategic counsel, oversight and delivery of employee communications activity to support the commercial business
* Develop and implement a strategic vision and mid-term plan for employee communications
* Provide senior strategic communications counsel to internal business partners and other team members, including the development of communication plans and tactics for key initiatives, events, crises
* Support leadership and change management communications to drive alignment to strategy, connectivity as a region and a conducive culture
* Coach Senior Leaders on employee engagement strategies
* Develop measurement criteria and processes that effectively evaluate internal communications programs and actively tracks effectiveness
* Maximise opportunities for integrated communications and content (via owned internal and digital channels) working closely with brand/therapy area and corporate communications.
* Partner with affiliates to understand, represent and address their employee communications needs
* Work closely with Therapy Area/brand communications to engage employees with Astellas priority products and their value for patients
* Develop/implement an integrated strategic employee communications plan to broaden understanding and awareness of Astellas' vision, strategy and business objectives
* Build relationships within the region and across the global structure to provide communications leadership and counsel to all parts of the organisation, including the management team
*Essential Knowledge & Experience:*
* Solid experience of corporate communications or public relations with strong customer focus in a multi-disciplinary, matrix and cross-cultural environment
* proactive media relations expertise
* Consolidated issues management experience, able to provide counsel, scenario plan and lead materials development/ approval.
* Proven leadership and people management experience including commitment to develop, coach and enable high performance standards.
* Proven ability to influence diverse senior stakeholders.
* Proven healthcare compliance expertise; to understand and comply with industry laws and regulations.
* Fluent in written and verbal business English
*Education/Qualifications:*
* BSc or BA Degree or Equivalent in journalism, communications or related field
