Quality Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer

We are seeking a bright Graduate Engineer / Quality Technician or apprentice trained individual with an interest in Quality Engineering looking for the opportunity to further develop and train within an established yet pioneering world-class, global manufacturing organisation producing a diverse range of market leading electro- mechanical products.

As Trainee Quality Engineer / Supplier Quality Engineer you will be working alongside a team of talented Engineers and shadowing the Supplier quality engineer, learning and gaining skills analysing data, identifying areas of poor quality / con-conformance both as part of new development products and supporting some of large established projects as well as our leading-edge new projects.

This will encompass attending supplier visits with the senior supplier quality engineer to develop your supplier quality skills and help build strong relationships with suppliers.

You will also help you identify areas for improvements with the assembly / manufacturing process and then utilise your first-class communication skills to report upon your key findings to the business.

It will be a varied Junior Quality Engineering role encompassing:

Identifying and issues / non-conformances and then flagging these up to ensure a corrective action is put in place

Supporting the Supplier Quality Engineer to problem solve and resolve supply issues

Utilising your analytical skills to monitor trends and to create reports and present the information as charts or graphs for use by the engineering and senior management team

Follow up and corrective actions, daily, weekly or monthly as needed

Establish actions needed to ensure the accuracy and integrity of manufacturing documentation

Review incoming products and identifying quality issues

Modify / update manufacturing procedures in line with corrective actions

Full training will be provided together with the opportunity to continue to grow and develop within the role.

To succeed in this interesting role you will either be HND +/Apprenticeship trained with proven engineering experience in an engineering environment or a Graduate Engineer looking to gain quality engineering experience within a global engineering business.

Ideally with prior experience as a hands on Quality role with a background in Quality, Production / Manufacture advantageous as is awareness of the requirements of ISO9001

Familiarity with a range of measuring and monitoring disciplines such as CMM and metrology instruments / gauges such as calipers / micrometers highly beneficial.
