The responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer position are as follows;

* Analyse current manufacturing capability and create manufacturing project roadmap to drive long-term improvements

* Maturing manufacturing processes from manual to semi-automated and fully automated in the long-term.

* Driving shop floor process improvement and implement changes to reduce cost, variation and non-value adding activity.

* Study the stability of manufacturing processes and yield output to justify investment in Automation, Robotics, Automated inspection and testing equipment.

* Carry out all CapEX activity, procuring equipment that will enhance current yield, quality, and scrap targets.

* Working diligently across all manufacturing cells to identify areas of improvement and creating measurement systems to track this improvement

* Drive Process Control activity to illustrate the achievements in manufacturing optimisation

* Utilise Process Capability methods to track the upper and lower limits of production targets

* Managing all risk throughout the manufacturing engineering projects to ensure that production targets are not compromised during improvement activity.

The key experience and qualifications required for the Manufacturing Engineer position are as follows:

* Degree qualified in Engineering or Manufacturing discipline (or equivalent experience)

* Chartered Engineer status or the desire to pursue Chartership

* Electromechanical manufacturing / assembly manufacturing experience (welding knowledge would be a benefit but not essential)

* Demonstrable background in using Process Control / Risk Mitigation methods (PFMEA etc.)

* Demonstrable background in using Process Capability methods (SPC, cp, cpk, pp, ppk)

* Knowledge of SixSigma (ideally certified to Green Belt level)

* CapEx experience, justifying new equipment, commissioning, and monitoring improvements.

* Ability to interpret engineering drawings

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to gain buyin at all levels.
