Job description
Activate Learning are looking to expand our Property & Environment team across our colleges in Berkshire and Surrey. As part of this, we are now recruiting for Property and Environment Officers to join our existing teams, with opportunities based at Guildford Campus or Merrist Wood Campus.
In this role, you will ensure that the College buildings, facilities and grounds provide a safe, clean and secure environment that supports teaching and learning. No two days will be the same, from unlocking the site, to conducting office moves, to repair jobs, or painting and decorating.
There will be a requirement for the successful candidate to be on call every fourth week, which will involve holding the on-duty phone and attending to any out of hours emergencies whilst you are on call. Travel between our Surrey campuses may also be required at times.
We are not necessarily looking for full time applicants and would be happy to consider applications from candidates who are looking for part time opportunities. Please note on your application form your campus preference and working hours, if part time.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
You will bring a positive, solution focussed attitude and work well in a team to deliver a customer focused facilities support service. You will be a good problem solver with the ability to think on your feet.
You will have previous experience in a property and estates role, with the ability to carry out maintenance tasks and an understanding of Health and Safety procedures.
What are the benefits of this role?
You will be joining a hardworking, enthusiastic team, who's passion is to maintain a high standard for all students, staff and visitors. Guildford College and Merrist Wood College are now part of the Activate Learning Group, so you will work in collaboration with our wider Property and Environment team across the group and benefit from a close-knit community of experts and leaders to support the sharing of best practice and encourage individual growth.
The role also offers generous annual leave entitlements and a competitive salary of £21,209 - £23,079 per annum (pro rata if part time), depending on skills and experience.
What are the benefits of working for Activate Learning Group?
At Activate Learning we are pioneering education with an unwavering focus on providing talent for business and transforming lives through our award-winning Learning Philosophy. We therefore encourage you to apply at the earliest opportunity to avoid disappointment as once we have closed a vacancy you will be unable to submit your application form.
