Science Graduate Teaching Assistant - Kingston-Upon-Thames

We are currently seeking a First-Class or 2:1 Science Graduate, who can take on an exciting new role as a Science Teaching Assistant in South West London!

In this Science Teaching Assistant role, you will provide specific and direct support to accelerate student progress and attainment whilst working in a fun, successful and very sociable Science department!

This Science Graduate role will require you to have excellent Scientific subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 and the necessary interpersonal skills to mentor students effectively; breaking down complicated parts of the Science curriculum to make them easier to understand.

Patience, determination and a never-give up attitude will all be needed to succeed in this Science Graduate role!

Science Graduate Teaching Assistant: Job Summary

  • Science Graduate role available in Kingston-Upon-Thames
  • Supporting Year 7-11 students on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Long-term Science Graduate placement starting ASAP until July 2022 initially
  • Science Teacher Training opportunities available from September 2022
  • Pay: £350 per week, paid on a PAYE basis
  • Incredible opportunity for aspiring English Teachers
  • Training and Induction provided and regular CPD sessions available
  • Full-time position, Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4pm
Science Graduate Teaching Assistant: Job Requirements
  • Excellent academic record including minimum of a 2:1 degree classification and strong grades at GCSE and/or A-Level within Science
  • A passion for all things Science and the desire to pass on this love of Science to others
  • Invested to start/continue a career within education. Aspiring Science Teachers are highly sought after!
  • The confidence to deliver 1:1 and small group activities to 11-16 year olds
  • A patient mindset and the ability to remain calm even in stressful or challenging situations
  • Knowledge or previous experience working with children who have SEN is desirable
