Job description


A top independent secondary school in Richmond is looking for an experienced and motivated IT Technician to provide 1st and 2nd line support on a full time, permanent basis to commence ASAP. Working hours will be 8.30am - 5.00pm, Monday - Friday.

Steeped in history, the school is located on an expansive green space in South West London.

The school offers state-of-the-art buildings and facilities, and their outstanding ICT facilities sees them as one of the leaders in this field in the independent education sector. There are three dedicated IT Suites along with specialist classrooms and labs, and students have access to networked computers throughout the school, allowing them to access their work throughout the school.

The school also boasts a state-of-the-art 3G all-weather sports ground, large multi-purpose sports hall and a professional standard Performing Arts theatre.

The school is looking to appoint an IT Technician to provide 1st and 2nd line support, providing staff and students exceptional service to ensure a smooth IT performance is in place and any technical issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

You will be responsible for:

Providing first- and second-line support to over 1500 staff and students
Responding to user requests and maintaining communication in line with the service-desk guidelines.

Setting up and decommissioning IT resources following the school's procedures.
Replacing IT peripherals when required.
Carrying out maintenance on hardware.

Providing out of hours support for scheduled and emergency scenarios.
Following the departments working practices, standards and ethos.
Identifying IT service improvements and providing feedback on areas for improvement.
Supporting the successful delivery of new projects or developments.

The successful candidate will have:

exceptional knowledge of and experience of IT systems and understand the importance of data security and confidentiality
a degree in computer science or have completed a Level 3 apprenticeship program in an IT related topic
the ability to use own initiative and demonstrate energy, commitment and enthusiasm
the ability to identify and complete work independently, including taking responsibility
All applicants should be Microsoft office literate and have an excellent command of written English and grammar.
