Design Co-ordinator

Location: Woking, Surrey
Salary: £40-43k
Hours: 40 per week (8am - 4:30pm)
Overall Package includes - Production bonus + pension + BUPA + 24 days holiday (+ BH) ++

Syntech Recruitment are currently on the look-out for a design coordinator to assist our client's design Project Manager. You will form part of a team responsible for the development, implementation and management of design projects. One of the fundamental tasks for the successful Design co-ordinator will be around NPI (New Product Introduction) so candidates with extensive knowledge around NPI documentation, Prototype builds, BOM's and design review experience will be ideal.
Design Co-ordinator responsibilities:
NPI:

The creation and management of multiple project plans for new and existing products; o Maintenance of the project plans as live documents.
Updating and maintenance of NPI documentation.
Identifying issues preventing progress and escalation for resolution.
Co-ordination and reporting of Project reviews.
Organising and preparing of NPI meetings.
Minuting and distributing of follow-up actions from meetings.
Working with Bill Of Materials (BOMs);
NPI Support across all departments.
Prototype and Pilot build purchasing plans
Co-ordination:

Liaising with the Design Project Manager and the Chief Design Engineer to ensure adequate tasking and progress of internal design engineers, draughtsmen and toolmakers.
Communication and reporting of sub-contractors used for design projects.
Participation in review meetings.
Associated documentation and progress reporting.
Liaising with the embedded Project Buyer in costing for prototypes and during the NPI process.

Your profile:

Experience of technical project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Possibly degree educated, but not vital, provided there is solid and extensive experience.
Experience of one of the following design packages, or similar:
Smartsheet, Zoho, Clarizen, Team Gantt, (url removed), Microsoft Project
Good communication and computer skills, including MS office suite.
Self-motivated team player in a dynamic and empowered environment.
