Your new role
Lead the SQA team (2 x SQA Managers with 10 SQA Engineers beneath them) in the strategic selection of Our clients supply base and ensure that high quality manufacturing processes are deployed to ensure production of quality components, at the correctly installed capacity and delivered on time to Our client.Will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and working closely with internal business partners and all suppliers; closely following programs, monitoring and verifying supplier deliverables against gateway criteria and being the single point contact for SQA\/ Purchasing between Product Development, Manufacturing \/ Manufacturing Engineering and Quality, receiving assignments and data and leading and being responsible for communicating and delivering the required performance from the Supplier and Purchasing. You will interface daily with Manufacturing and Quality Operations to evaluate and verify Supplier caused disruption costs and where required support supplier cost recovery.Develop strategic Supply base improvement initiatives and Supplier Quality Manual revisions and other continuous improvement activities. Lead and approve training and development plans for the SQA Managers and Engineers to include self-development and succession planning.

Principal accountabilities:
Work with Cross Functional Leadership partners to drive collaborative behaviours to achieve optimum outcome for our clients Profitability.
Manage and Maintain supplier performance metrics including open quality concerns, PPAP performance and retrieving costs of poor quality from the supply chain that resulted in customer claims related to production losses and downtime within the our clients Production Centre.
Plan and request deployment of Purchasing \/ SQA resources to cover the allocated suppliers in the Commodity group.
Ensure new supplier site Sourcing is well researched to build and maintain a competent supply base.
Support Supplier selection & development processes to achieve a self-sufficient supply base (TS16949). Ensure Non TS16949 suppliers deliver their certification qualification to the approved sourcing plan.
Ensure all new tooled parts have APQP reporting established at the earliest opportunity (No later than at Sourcing Confirmation).
Maintain plan of parts that require PPAP approvals and ensure the Supplier make progress to plan follow ups to maintain the launch \/ delivery commitments.
Drive Supplier \/ Part Risk Assessments and develop risk mitigation actions.
Identify Critical suppliers \/ parts that require full cross functional team engagement with the supplier.
Lead \/ Co Lead Supplier Business reviews with Purchasing to leverage improved quality \/ supply performance.
Drive Major open issue resolution at Key suppliers, to ensure Supplier Senior Management team are fully engaged in the resolution process.
Ensure that SQA resources are correctly deployed.
Drive Supplier Quality QCR issue resolution (8D) process to closure, to prevent reoccurrence.
Champion critical supplier issues that require Supplier Senior management engagement.
Lead process improvement initiatives.
Lead continuous improvement actions in Purchasing \/ SQA.

What you'll need to succeed
Technical Engineering qualified to Degree standard.
Previous experience in Engineering and Manufacturing.
Have a working understanding of: Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
