Your new company
A small residential setting that provides specialist care for up to 10 individuals aged between 18 and 75 years old with physical and\/or learning disabilities. The company prides themselves on providing the residents with a comfortable and relaxing environment. Each resident has their own bedroom which all include their own en-suite wet room. They are encouraged to use the wide range of onsite facilities such as the sensory room and the lounge area where they can spend time and relax with the other residents and support workers. The setting has an extremely good reputation and a supportive team who work collaboratively to improve the lives of these vulnerable adults.
Your new role
Being a Support Worker isn't just about supporting someone in day-to-day life, it's about having fun! The people we support are very involved in the things they like to do so they would love their Support Workers to play an active part in the things they enjoy as well. The daily duties are but are not limited to: helping the residents get up and ready for the day (personal care is required), supporting them at meal times, talking them out into the community and taking part in the activities that they enjoy, this could be shopping, cinema, going to the beach, listening to music. You will be providing person-centred care so each individual resident will be on their own care plan which will need following - you may also be required to attend healthcare appointments as and when required. Shift
Shifts will include long days 8am - 8pm or 7am - 7pm, you will be required to work 3 days one week and 4 days the other. Other shifts are available including 7am - 3pm and 2pm-10pm.
What you'll need to succeed
A minimum of 6 months experience supporting adults, ideally in a residential \/ supported living setting within the last 2 years.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 within a child or adult setting is desirable, but not essential
You will also be dedicated to helping vulnerable adults.
Ideally you will also be able to drive.
A DBS on the update service is desirable
