The Technical Support team are an integral part of the Entertainment team providing support to in house and external shows alike.
Whether you are a Stage Manager, Lighting Operative or Sound Engineer with years of experience or just starting your career there are opportunities for all. Genres of entertainment at Butlins can be diverse covering genres such as Live Music, Comedy, Children's Shows, and West End Style Shows which makes for an exciting and fresh place to work.

Lighting Engineer

Adding magic to performances through the creative use of lighting. The range of entertainment within Butlins is vast and whilst some shows are fully programmed, we look to our engineers to assist in the creative design and deliverance of many shows.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

•Set up and operation of lighting systems
•Liaising and working with visiting artistes and engineers
•Carry out regular maintenance of lighting equipment
•Act as security personnel to safeguard equipment and performers
•Lifting and carrying equipment and sets (including the unloading and loading of vehicles)
•Ensure all shows are consistently delivered to a high standard
•To adhere to Health and Safety procedures (Stage and Backstage areas)
•Basic stage craft duties
•Assisting in the setting of stage scenery
•Working at Height
•Assist with the creative element of the performance through lighting

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:
•Have a working knowledge of various lighting consoles (Avolites, MA Lighting, preferable)
•Have a good working knowledge of intelligent lighting fixtures
•Have good working knowledge of equipment rigging and suspension
•Have a range of experience with different genres of entertainment
•Have understanding of Midi control and time coding
•Be able to carry out basic levels of maintenance (including soldering, electrical wiring)
•Have good communication skills
•Be a committed Team Player including being flexible and enthusiastic passionate about delivering exceptional Customer Service
•Have a problem solving attitude
•Confident to work on own initiative as necessary
•Have knowledge of technical procedures, and systems
•Creative Lighting Skills
•Have working knowledge of DMX
•To adhere to Health and Safety procedures (Stage and Backstage areas)
•Have understanding of electrical systems and power distribution
