Job description

We are recruiting to two Senior Project Worker roles:

  • The Senior Project Worker (High Support Housing) will drive the continued success of two 24-hour supported accommodation services for young people aged 16 to 25, who have been, or are at risk, of homelessness. The projects offer high quality accommodation to 21 and 15 residents, including large communal areas and garden spaces, providing opportunities for innovation in 1:1 support and group work activities.
  • The Senior Project Worker (Medium and Transitional Housing) will ensure the safety, security and quality of all supported support services and transitional accommodation units across the City. The service currently supports 38 young people across 10 sites, and 19 young people in commissioned medium supported accommodation, with scope for further developments.

We provide a safe and caring environment in which young people are encouraged and empowered to move forward positively, and to achieve the independent skills they need to live positive and fulfilling lives in the future. The experienced and committed staff team adopt a trauma informed and psychologically informed approach to supporting young people to fulfil their aspirations and ambitions.

Top Responsibilities:

  • Support the team with complex cases and support effective safeguarding process.
  • Coordinate referrals and interviews, conduct tenancy reviews and oversee compliance & maintenance.
  • Utilise restorative practice and develop partnerships.
  • Support the service manager in line managing staff, deputise in their absence and support other services in the locality, as required.

Top Criteria:

  • You will have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and have an ability to develop person-centred plans to maximise safety and minimise risk.
  • You will have the ability to coordinate group work and activities that enable young people to achieve the skills they need to maintain their lives independently.
  • You will need to be a competent administrator with the ability to plan, prioritise and use your initiative to solve problems.
  • You will have experience of coordinating and overseeing housing management tasks (voids, arrears management, income and expenditure), and health and safety-related tasks (fire, gas and water safety, building inspections, etc.)

Expected working pattern:

The Senior Project Worker (High Support Housing) will have a shift pattern over seven days, including: Weekday working between hours of 8am-10pm (maximum of 8 hours per day); One day off in the week; One Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 9am-6pm (maximum 8 hours) every fortnight.

The Senior Project Worker (Medium and Transitional Housing) will have a shift pattern over seven days, including: Weekday working between hours of 9am-5pm; One day off in the week; One Saturday or Sunday between the hours of 9am-6pm every fortnight.

Flexibility in working pattern may be negotiated, to ensure mutual benefit to the service and post holder.
