Senior Support Worker Job, Children's Home, Full Time

The company aims to work therapeutically with these children to teach life skills and promote independence. These homes act as the stepping-stone for the children to move on to family-based placements so it's extremely important that these children receive specialised professional support in learning how to cope with the pressures and demands of day-to-day living. The home you will be working in contains 6 children ages between 10-13 years old.

Your new role
Your main responsibility as a residential children's support worker is to make sure the children you care for are safe and progress in their personal development. This will involve working therapeutically with the children and young people to promote independence and provide support when required. This will also involve risk-assessing the surroundings making sure there's no obvious hazards. The children in this home are very active and love a range of actives such as bike riding, horse riding, water sports, trips out into community and many more fun things. You will be working as part of a team, this is a 40 hour a week full-time job, consisting of a mixture of days, afternoons and sleep in's, you will be expected to work 2 weekends out of a possible 4.

What you'll need to succeed

* You will need to have high levels of patience and resilience
* Previous experience working with children is preferred although not essential
* Previous experience in social care industry is required
* Committed to career in social care
* Willingness to undergo training and up-skill qualifications
