Job description

Lead Maintenance Engineer (Biomass Plant)

Chichester

£50,000 + Pension + Holidays + Further Training Opportunities + Mobile + Tablet

Are you a skilled biomass, steam, CHP or power plant engineer and looking to take full hands-on responsibility for the servicing and maintenance of a biomass plant that provides essential heat and power to an industrial area?

This long-established company specialises in installing, commissioning and servicing commercial scale biomass heating systems across the UK and are now going through an exciting period of growth off the back of their success in the market.

In this role you will be based on a single site and working autonomously to operate and carry out fault finding, servicing, repairs and maintenance for a commercial scale biomass boiler and supporting ORC units. You will also be responsible for remotely monitoring the plant and carrying out long-term improvements to the plant to ensure maximum availability.

The ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance for biomass boilers, steam plant or power plant and will be capable of working with little supervision to take full responsibility for the upkeep of a site. They will enjoy hands-on work and will have a preference for working on a single site rather than in a mobile role.

This is a great opportunity for someone within the biomass or power generation industries to join an expanding business with international ties as it moves towards becoming a major renewable energy supplier.

The role:
* Operating and maintaining a commercial scale biomass boiler and supporting ORC units
* Remotely monitoring plant and carrying out repairs where necessary
* Fault finding and carrying out improvement/remedial works to maximise plant availability
* Maintaining an accurate record of works undertaken and managing inventory

The person:
* Experience working in a multi-skilled maintenance role
* Experience working with commercial or industrial biomass/steam/power plant
* Experience with CHP (advantageous)
* Mobile plant experience (desirable although training can be provided)
* Full UK driving license
