Summary

Band 4 Macmillan Dietetic Assistant Practitioner - Cross site.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Macmillan Dietetic Assistant Practitioner to join the dynamic Dietetic department at East Sussex Healthcare Trust. The post is based cross site within the Macmillan oncology dietetic team at Eastbourne District General Hospital and Conquest Hospital.

This is a vibrant department which strives to keep up-to-date with research and technology. Our department is able to provide regular opportunities to work collaboratively with members of the oncology MDT and specialist dietitians to manage shared patients or work together via monthly or bimonthly clinical forums. The department values the health and wellbeing of staff. On a regular basis we hold fun and sociable events such as Bhangra nights, treasure hunts, quizzes and afternoon teas and involve the MDT to join our social activities. We embrace new starters with us and help to support new team members to settle into life in East Sussex. East Sussex is a lively area with frequent festivals such as Sussex bonfire nights, Jack in the Green, beer & music festivals and seafood and wine festivals.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Macmillan oncology dietetic team and wider oncology MDT, being responsible for supporting the Macmillan dietitians with their patient caseload, service review and development. You will be helping to support patients with cancer to manage their nutritional needs throughout their cancer journey. This will enable the successful candidate to develop knowledge of different cancers, different nutritional issues and how these are managed, and develop a range of skills. In addition, you will play a role in improving the Macmillan dietetic service by developing new resources and being actively involved in project work.
